Autumn and Chas, high school sweethearts, celebrated their love with a heartfelt Bay Pointe Inn wedding on a sun-washed July afternoon. Surrounded by the lake, their families, and close friends, they said their vows beneath towering trees in Michigan’s beautiful Bay Pointe Woods.

Getting Ready at Bay Pointe Inn
We arrived early afternoon, with the lake shimmering just beyond the trees and the ballroom coming alive with florals and soft light.
Autumn prepared in the Kipling Suite, champagne in hand, with her mom helping with final touches—zipping her dress and setting the veil perfectly. Nearby, Chas and his groomsmen embraced the morning’s energy with matching socks, music, and a confident walk through the woods. They skipped a first look with each other, saving the moment of seeing each other for the aisle, and it was worth the wait. Autumn was able to steal a last minute first look with her father, Mark!
Ceremony at Bay Pointe Woods
The ceremony took place in the dappled sunlight beneath the trees at Bay Pointe Woods. Autumn carried a bouquet wrapped with a photo of her late brother Seth. Throughout the day, Seth and Chas’s sister Rachel were lovingly remembered—a memorial table, a heartfelt best man speech, and the feeling that though absent, their presence was everywhere.
Vows were deeply personal, the kiss unforgettable, and as they walked back down the aisle as husband and wife, joy radiated through every corner of the space.
Reception in the Bay Pointe Inn Ballroom
Following cocktail hour by the water, the celebration moved indoors to the elegant Bay Pointe Inn ballroom.
The room glowed with candlelight and laughter. Toasts brought tears and cheers. Cooks Cakery’s dessert spread dazzled guests, and Autumn and Chas shared their first dance as sunlight faded behind the windows. The night was filled with love and dancing that lasted late into the evening, capped off with a tasty late-night snack.
