Hyatt Carmel Highlands Wedding: Nathalie & Bryan
When you picture a Hyatt Carmel Highlands wedding, you might imagine windswept cliffs, ocean mist, and that golden, dreamy light the Monterey Peninsula is famous for. Nathalie and Bryan’s August celebration had all of that — plus a love story that would bring anyone to tears.
These two met while working in IT at Facebook. Nathalie never imagined herself getting married or becoming a stepmom — but when she met Bryan and his two boys, everything changed. Their day wasn’t just a wedding; it was the start of a beautifully blended family.
The Ceremony | Hyatt Carmel Highlands
We arrived at the Hyatt Carmel Highlands just after 1:15 PM to set up and capture details — the rings, heirloom jewelry, and an invitation designed by Nathalie’s father. The Hyatt’s cliffside terrace offered sweeping ocean views that made the perfect backdrop for their intimate ceremony.
At 2:00 PM, guests gathered as the violin began to play. With just 35 loved ones present, every smile and tear felt amplified. Nathalie’s dad, himself a photographer, quietly moved alongside us during the day — a tender reminder of how meaningful this was for their family.
Portraits by the Coast | Garrapata state park
After the ceremony and family portraits, we took a quick scenic drive up the coast to Big Sur, CA. The wind danced through Nathalie’s veil, the ocean roared behind them, and they walked barefoot through the sand like something out of a film. These moments were unhurried — just the two of them soaking in the fact that they were finally married.
The Reception | Sardine Factory, Monterey
From the beach, we headed into Monterey’s historic Cannery Row district for a reception at the Sardine Factory. Known for its elegant old-world charm, the candlelit dining room set the tone for an evening of heartfelt toasts and laughter.
Dinner was rich with emotion. Family and friends shared stories about the couple’s journey, and there wasn’t a dry eye in the room when Bryan’s sons stood to speak.
They cut the cake from C’est Si Bon Bakery, shared their first few moments married as a couple by signing their marriage license, and closed the night surrounded by the people who love them most.
A Day Full of Heart
From the Hyatt Carmel Highlands’ panoramic views, to the rugged coastline of Garrapata State Park to the warm, historic atmosphere of the Sardine Factory, Nathalie and Bryan’s wedding felt like a love letter to the Monterey Peninsula itself.
Every wedding is special, but this one was layered with meaning — a reminder that sometimes life takes you places you never thought you’d go, and you end up exactly where you’re meant to be.
