La Posada de Santa Fe Wedding | Callie & Andrew

There’s something about Santa Fe that just feels grounding. The colors, the adobe texture, the light that glows soft and warm across the desert—it’s the kind of place that makes you want to slow down and be present. Callie and Andrew’s La Posada de Santa Fe wedding embodied that completely: effortless, emotional, and surrounded by the people who love them most.

Their story

Callie and Andrew met during podiatry school in Chicago—two people from different corners of the country (Colorado and Michigan) whose paths lined up exactly when they were meant to. They spent years navigating long distance, weekend trips, and growing careers before Andrew proposed in Telluride.

When they started planning their wedding, Santa Fe immediately stood out—a location that felt relaxed yet meaningful, with a blend of old-world charm and modern energy.

The vibe of the day AT La Posada de Santa Fe

La Posada de Santa Fe is one of those venues that doesn’t need much. Its adobe architecture, tree-shaded courtyards, and walkable location near downtown make every corner feel cinematic. The weather stayed in the mid-70s with soft clouds and bright sun rolling through here and there, giving the whole day this easy, glowy tone that matched their personalities perfectly.

The timeline

For couples planning their own destination wedding, here’s how Callie and Andrew structured their day to keep things intentional and stress-free:

  • 2:00 PM — Getting Ready: Andrew and his groomsmen spent a laid-back afternoon getting ready with music, drinks, and a few laughs.

  • 2:30 PM — First Look & Private Vows: They met in one of La Posada’s courtyards for a quiet, emotional first look and private vow exchange.

  • 3:30 PM — Couple Portraits: We explored the property and surrounding streets for portraits that felt authentic and cinematic.

  • 4:30 PM — Guest Arrival: Friends and family began arriving for the ceremony.

  • 5:00 PM — Ceremony: Officiated by Pastor Antonio Martinez, their ceremony took place indoors surrounded by candlelight and the sound of quiet tears and laughter.

  • 5:30 PM — Family Formals & Cocktail Hour: A relaxed mix of portraits and genuine moments as guests mingled over drinks.

  • 6:30 PM — Dinner & Toasts: Candlelit tables, heartfelt speeches, and that kind of laughter that fills a room.

  • 8:00 PM — Dancing Begins: Their first dance rolled straight into a packed dance floor led by DJ Ryley Bersano from Complete Wedding Events.

  • 11:00 PM — Sparkler Exit: A glowing sendoff that closed out the night on a perfect note.

What made it special

It wasn’t the decor or timeline that made this day stand out—it was how calm and connected everything felt. Every moment was intentional. From Callie’s mom crying during vows to Andrew’s friends hyping them up during the party, it was all real and unfiltered.

If you’re planning a destination wedding, take a note from these two:

  • Keep the focus on connection, not production.

  • Build in breathing room throughout your timeline.

  • Trust your venue and team to help bring the atmosphere you want to life.
