Kylie & Capri’s Summer Solstice Wedding at Beaver Creek Lodge

Logan Canyon, Utah | LGBTQ Wedding Photographer

Kylie and Capri’s wedding wasn’t about perfection—it was about presence.

They got married on June 20, 2025—the summer solstice—at Beaver Creek Lodge in Logan Canyon, Utah, surrounded by their closest friends and family. I had the honor of second shooting for Cecilia Harvard Photography on this beautiful day, and it reminded me exactly why I love being an LGBTQ wedding photographer in Utah.

A Safe Space for Love

Kylie and Capri are the kind of couple that make people feel seen. They’re grounded, thoughtful, and genuine—more focused on soaking in each moment than sticking to a perfect timeline.

They didn’t have a traditional wedding party, but they were surrounded by intentional chosen family. Their wedding day centered around trust, community, and connection, not performance.

Wedding Day Highlights

LGBTQ First Look in Logan Canyon

Before the ceremony, Kylie and Capri shared a first look just off a dirt road in the woods. They stood back to back, holding hands, then turned to see each other—and the emotion in that moment was unforgettable.

Capri wore a cobalt blue suit. Kylie twirled in a soft, flowing dress. They exchanged small surprise gifts before the ceremony, even gifting bottles of wine and treats to us photographers.

That first look moment was emotional, grounded, and full of light. Literally—a dust haze caught the sunset just right, making the canyon glow.

A Forest Ceremony Full of Intention

Their wedding ceremony took place in the woods, with friends forming a protective circle around them before guests arrived. Capri wrote her vows in the forest just minutes before walking down the aisle.

After the ceremony, Kylie and Capri signed their marriage license and shared an intimate dinner in the same ceremony space—just the two of them. No rushing. No pressure. Just time to breathe together.

DIY Reception at Beaver Creek Lodge

Their wedding reception took place at Beaver Creek Lodge, which they rented out for the weekend. With no cell service or wifi, it created a rare opportunity for everyone to unplug and be present.

Some favorite details:

  • They DJed their own music playlist

  • Served over a dozen ice cream flavors from Salt & Stone (sampling each one together first)

  • Opted out of a cake and went for cheesecake bars and berry toppings

  • Shared a joint father-daughter dance

  • Were gifted a handmade Lone Star rainbow quilt by Kylie’s mom

  • Played lawn games (cornhole, etc.) with kids and friends as the sun set

The day ended with a sparkler exit under the stars.

What It Felt Like

Kylie and Capri’s wedding reminded me that the best weddings aren’t always the most curated—they’re the most real.

If you’re planning an LGBTQ wedding in Utah, a forest wedding in Logan Canyon, or just want to create a space where everyone feels safe, loved, and grounded—take inspiration from Kylie and Capri.
